This year would have, under normal circumstances, marked Mid-Cape’s 3^rd Annual First Responder Appreciation Day. An event full of live music, games, touch-a-trucks, and many other activities for the whole family.  The idea of creating a First Responder Appreciation Day was inspired by the tragic death of Sergeant Sean M. Gannon of the Yarmouth Police Department. Like so many first responders, Sean put his life on the line every single day to make sure our local community was safe for everyone. Mid-Cape wanted to celebrate and honor Sean Gannon’s legacy by hosting this event each year, so his story will live on and inspire others. All proceeds will be donated to the Sean M. Gannon Memorial Fund of The Cape Cod Foundation, “This fund is a tribute to his values, work ethic, and dedication to our community. Grants support local programs and organizations that align with our mission.” Mid-Cape works with the Sean M. Gannon Memorial Fund team to allocate the funds raised to specific programs that align best with the needs of the local community at the time of distribution.
