Myths, Mountains & Landscape Clans
This workshop will take our photography group to two main areas, first Isle of Skye and secondly Glencoe.
Glencoe is a small highland village with one main street. This area has some of the most spectacular landscapes in the whole of Great Britain and the great thing is that there are many great compositions right along the roadside.
A cluster of mountains named the Three Sisters, the hauntingly boggy areas of Rannoch Moor lie to the south and the wonderful ridge of Anoch Eagach to the north. The centerpiece is always the ever present iconic Buachaille Etive Mor with its pyramidal peak, one of the most photographed mountains in Scotland.
Whether in the Glencoe area or the Isle of Skye, we will visit and photograph mountains in the highlands, castles and cottages, lochs (lakes), countryside streams, waterfalls and ocean views.
The trip would not be complete without wildlife so from day to day we will visit sites where you may photograph Roe deer, Red deer, Raven and perhaps even Golden Eagles, so be ready with your 300mm or greater telephoto lens if you have one.
There’s even the possibility of even getting to meet the friendly Highland Cattle on Isle of Skye as seen below. As we stop along various country roads, there’s a chance they will simply be walking by on the road.
