Community Connections, Session 3
Join us for the finale of our 3-topic series on
our interactive virtual event platform
This PFE Community Connections series is intentionally designed to:
At each 3-hour session, join peers for networking in the virtual space. An opening panel or dialogue will introduce the program. Then, participants will select a breakout room where you will be invited to reflect, relate and activate deeper conversations around today's topic. Throughout the day, the virtual space will remain open for self-selected networking, peer meet-ups and 1:1 meetings. At the end of each Community Connection day, PFE will host a digital social hour. Following the series, Leading-From-Within will partner via follow-on peer offerings aligned with sector interest around PFE topics.
This PFE digital series hopes to engage some of our lost connectivity, creativity and sector spirit. Come experiment with us around the simple powers of conversation.
There are several options for you to participate in the series:

Important Power-Outage Advisory for Thursday's Event
We are aware of the current notices regarding power outages in the county of Santa Barbara and are actively monitoring the situation. At this point in time, we intend to hold our event Thursday as planned. In the event you experience a power outage and cannot access the event, you will be able to view a recording of the panel conversation.
In the worst case scenario of a major outage across the county, we plan to reschedule for next week. Thank you for your understanding as we adapt to the challenges of the virtual landscape. We will continue to keep you updated and informed with any changes that are made.
As always, our PFE technical staff will be readily available to assist you with accessing the platform prior to and throughout the duration of the event. If you have any questions before or during the event, please feel free to contact us at info@visionalitypartners.
December 10: Exploring Diversity, Equity
and Inclusion for Nonprofits
Diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI). The nonprofit sector often uses these terms as we strive to transform our organizations to be more representative of the communities we serve. And yet many staff members, leaders and board members are uncertain about the steps to move our intentions into action and change. Making progress toward an inclusive environment requires time, resources, courage, and a deep commitment to, transparency, and honesty.
As respected leaders in our region, nonprofits are at the forefront of movements and strategies more than ever before. We have been called to make clear commitments and support one another to advance diversity, equity and inclusion in our workplaces and in our communities. Embracing DEI work can help organizations be more effective in understanding our constituents and better fulfilling our missions.
We invite you to this Partnership for Excellence community conversation — a learning space — to explore questions through listening and dialogue with others:
A small circle of nonprofit and foundation peers will share a fishbowl conversation, introducing ideas and sharing stories to activate further exploration and reflections among participants in community conversations following the opening program. Join us for understanding, insights, and your own organization’s next steps on the spectrum of realizing diversity, equity, and inclusion.

About the Partnership for Excellence
Generously sponsored by The Foundation Roundtable for more than 25 years, the Partnership for Excellence (PFE) convenes hundreds of Santa Barbara County nonprofit and foundation staff and leaders to learn, network, and collaborate together. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, PFE 2020 at The Alisal Ranch was canceled in April. This fall, our sponsors are stepping forward to offer a free, digital series focused on re-connecting members of our sector.
