When D Magazine dispatched Englishman Richard Patterson to find the best fish and chips in Dallas, he discovered that the exemplar was prepared by a fellow countryman who’d closed his restaurant earlier this year: Nick Barclay. Nick has agreed to come out of semi-retirement and cook his cod pieces at Sevy’s for a lunch of a lifetime.
There are only 84 seats available. Included in the price of admission is an appetizer with a glass of Champagne, followed by the best fish and chips you can’t buy anywhere else in Dallas. Cash bar at your service. Will there be a brief talk given by Chef Barclay on what, exactly, it takes to prepare a proper plate of fish and chips? We can’t say that won’t happen.
