Focused on advancing community health, this year's conference theme, "Deepening Community Health Workers Roots of Leadership, Equity, and Resilience," explores strategies, policies, and practices that empower Community Health Workers (CHWs) to make a measurable impact on health equity and community resilience. Discussions will emphasize skill enhancement, fiscal sustainability, CHW leadership, and health equity, aiming to move from advocacy to action through innovative initiatives and collaborative partnerships.

Conference Goals:

Enhance CHWs' skills, knowledge, and tools for community impact.
Ensure long-term fiscal sustainability of CHW positions.
Empower CHWs to advocate for their roles and contribute to strategic planning.

Human Resource Recruiters from Harris County Public Health will provide one-on-one resume reviews for in-person CHWs interested in receiving feedback and improving their current professional resumes. The reviews are by appointment only.

To foster professional development, in-person CHWs will have the opportunity to take FREE professional headshots on-site. By appointment only,

Networking

This is not your traditional conference networking session! CHWs and all in-person conference attendees will be given the space for intentional networking through guided informal conversations with HCPH CHWI staff.

Wellness Activities

Experience holistic wellness in person at the Healthy Communities Conference with our diverse range of engaging activities designed to nurture mind, body, and spirit. From guided mindfulness sessions and interactive workshops to nutrition-based booths and wellness networking events, our wellness activities are curated to support your well-being journey.
