IMPORTANT UPDATE

Because of some unexpected bureaucratic issues, we have been forced to postpone the opening of ticket sales. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience. To allow everyone to reserve a spot and secure an Early Bird price once tickets go on sale, we have opened pre-registration for IFBF 2026.

Please note that pre-registration is not the same as final registration. It gives you the opportunity to secure an Early Bird ticket, but formal registration and payment will still be required once the ticketing system opens.

Pre-register your onsite or virtual Early Bird ticket here: https://www.accelevents.com/e/international-flow-battery-forum-2026/survey?id=UmVnaXN0cmF0aW9uJTIwRWFybHklMjBCJTVFODk5Nw

IFBF 2026 - TIME FOR FLOW BATTERIES

The International Flow Battery Forum (IFBF®) – the leading event for the flow battery community – is back on 16-18 June in the capital of Hungary, Budapest, at the Intercontinental Hotel, located in the city centre in front of the Danube river. The event is hybrid, with both onsite and virtual tickets available!

The IFBF is the annual event promoting the most recent developments in the commercialisation and technological advancements of flow batteries – a sustainable and safe long-duration energy storage technology, ideal for renewable energy storage.

Covering a broad range of interests in the industrial and research aspects of flow batteries, the conference brings together users, manufacturers, suppliers, policymakers, academics, and students from across the globe, to raise the profile of flow batteries within the energy storage sector.

Over three days, IFBF 2026 will feature talks, panel sessions, open discussions, networking breaks, a poster session, a networking reception, a conference dinner, and a local site visit.

After the great success of the 2025 edition in Vienna, we expect around 350 delegates from all over the world – featuring the leading experts of the flow battery sector – 20 exhibitor booths and 50 posters.

The IFBF is the key event to:
  • Showcase your products and services
  • Increase brand awareness
  • Meet and interact with new and existing professional contacts
  • Create new sales leads, business opportunities, and ventures
  • Benefit from your company’s presence in the IFBF newsletter sent to over 2,000 subscribers.
While various sponsorship packages are still available, the exhibition area is almost full.  If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or an exhibitor, please refer to our sponsorship brochure and write us at info@flowbatteryforum.com.

THE PROGRAMME

Over three days, the 2026 edition of the International Flow Battery Forum will highlight recent global developments in flow battery technology, including large-scale installations, AI and data centre applications, transport uses, and advances in research and manufacturing. The event will bring together manufacturers, customers, investors, and researchers to address supply chain readiness, financing, and large-scale deployment within a high-level technical and commercial networking environment.

The programme will feature keynote addresses from a Hungarian perspective, alongside insights into recent flow battery projects across Europe, North America, and Asia. These sessions will explore key successes, ongoing challenges, and future opportunities. Particular attention will be given to large-scale installations, including critical IT infrastructure, as well as the specific demands created by Artificial Intelligence and data centres.

IFBF is recognised for its unique combination of high-level technical content and commercial networking, creating a dynamic platform for collaboration across the flow battery community.

The main topics in the programme this edition will be:
  • Large scale flow battery systems - 50 MW and larger
  • Large scale systems for transmission reinforcement
  • Large scale systems for data-centres
  • Distributed energy storage systems - front of meter, behind the meter, flow batteries and renewable generation hybrid systems, microgrid systems
  • Flow battery industry
  • Technology Issues
