About the Conference: Through the ever-changing and often uncertain landscape the covid-19 pandemic has created, there is one thing that we are certain of: we wouldn’t have had the same level of success in keeping our communities safe without Community Health Workers (CHWs).
This year’s 13th annual Latino Health Equity Conference – The Power of Community – is dedicated to recognizing, uplifting, and learning from CHWs and community based organizations (CBOs) who have been working on the frontlines. The two-day conference will be held on June 9th and 10th, 2022 and include a full day of speakers and presentations, followed by an afternoon of celebration for our CHWs.
This will be an inspiring conference that celebrates CHWs and CBOs, and addresses gaps and changes needed in healthcare systems serving Latino/x/e communities, specifically in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Presentations will shed light on how CHWs and CBOs reshaped public health through the pandemic and how collaborations with State & Local Public Health Authorities, major healthcare systems, and local providers have paved the way for a new future that will continue to support Latino/x/e and BIPOC health.
This is a space to learn, connect, and grow together. It is a place for CHWs to be heard and to heal, and a place for CBOs, health authorities, health systems, and clinics to be reflective and find ways to innovate – as one.
Community has the power to affect change. Join us as we share empowering tools, resources, and information, and create new connections. *COVID-19 Safety Measures: The health and safety of our attendees is our top priority. Full vaccination is required to attend. Sanitation stations will be available throughout the event. If you are feeling sick, we kindly ask that you stay home.
