'The office isn’t dead’ is a mantra that the real estate sector is trumpeting to the world at the moment, and while that is clearly true, it is also a straw-man argument. It is clear that in the future the office isn’t going to look or operate in the same way as it did on 31 December 2019. And real estate needs to work out what the workplace of the future is going to be.

The future of the office sector isn’t just a niche issue — it is a topic that will have an impact on the way our great cities, economies, and society itself will operate and be organised. For real estate, it is by far the largest market segment, with London office investment alone accounting for 25% of all UK transactions last year, according to Lambert Smith Hampton.

Right now, the signals are incredibly mixed — for every survey proclaiming office occupiers will need less space, or that they will abandon city centres, you can find another proving the opposite. But while the future isn’t clear, it is becoming increasingly obvious that 2020 is a year when real estate has been presented with the opportunity to provide the kind of workspace people really want to use — and if market players don’t do that, they risk becoming obsolete.

Join Bisnow for our UK Office Digital Summit on 26 November where we will examine every facet of the future of the office and hear from the biggest and most innovative occupiers, investors and developers about how they are positioning themselves for the rapidly evolving future of the office.

Topics for discussion include:

  1. How large global occupiers from the tech and financial services sector are innovating in the way they use their office space
  2. The technology and data that will be truly useful in shaping how workplaces will operate
  3. How companies plan to manage a workforce that will be more flexible and distributed than ever before
  4. Where developers foresee future growth coming from
  5. How investors are underwriting the changes that are occurring when it comes to investment deals

In addition, we're excited to bring you three ways to network during the digital summit.

  1. You'll be able to take part in video-enabled speed networking to meet with like-minded individuals and spark warm leads
  2. You can also send 1-1 chats to start a conversation or share your digital business card
  3. When you're ready to take it to the next level, you can schedule a private video meeting during the summit and really start to make deals happen

Unable to attend live? You should still buy a ticket! You will be able to access recordings of all Digital Summit sessions for 30 days after the summit! You must register prior to the end of the summit to view on-demand.
