Hello, advocates! We are so excited to be preparing to advocate during another legislative session, beginning on January 11, 2021.
GCDD Advocacy Days take place during the 2021 Georgia legislative session and serve to educate Georgians on key disability focused issues, how to advocate, and provide opportunities to interact with legislators.
Per COVID-19 considerations, we will be hosting three focused, interactive, virtual events this year and are excited to have more time for breakout sessions and opportunities to speak with Georgia legislators. The first meeting, scheduled for January 27, 2021 will explore the significant impact the lack of state Medicaid waiver funding has on the disability community.
The meeting agenda will be published prior to the meeting and participants are welcome to come and go based on their availability and interests. ASL and CART transcription will be available during this meeting and a lunch break and frequent breaks will be included in the agenda.
Registration is free and open to anyone interested in supporting disability advocacy in Georgia.
This is a free event, however, registration is required.
If you are a family member of someone with developmental disabilities in Georgia and are interested in becoming more involved in advocacy, please email Advocacy@ClaritasCreative.com.
