Welcome! Since 1932 the Junior League of Baton Rouge (JLBR) has been working hard to build a better Baton Rouge. With more than 1,600 members, JLBR is committed to promoting voluntarism, improving the community, and developing the potential for women. This passion is where the Women's Leadership Conference was developed. We are pleased to announce our second annual conference - with a virtual twist! The event will feature breakout sessions for personal and professional growth and a keynote speaker.
We are honored to announce that this year's keynote speaker will be Misty Copeland. A true prodigy in ballet, she was dancing en pointe within three months of taking her first dance class and performing professionally within a year. In August 2015, Misty was promoted to principal dancer, making her the first African American woman to ever be promoted to the position in the company's 75-year history. Through all of this, she has developed professionally and personally and is here to share her story with us!
