This general session will be an opportunity for attendees – regardless of role or institution – to learn more about supporting students through this challenging time. For many of our students, their CTE Center is a place to find confidence, safety, and community; what they learn within our walls starts with skills but transcends all aspects of their world. Now that world looks very different and perhaps more challenging. Through the lens of social and emotional learning, our expert panelists will share experiences, strategies, and practices to help students navigate this current crisis and find places of stability and security.
Grab another cup of coffee and settle in for a great morning of breakout sessions.
This session will include updates from ABC Maine and an overview of the NCCER curriculum.
Despite the pandemic, there is plenty of opportunity for students to visit campuses both in-person and virtually. Although much of the application process is similar to past years, there are important changes this year. In this session, attendees will hear from representatives from Thomas College, Kennebec Valley Community College, and University of Southern Maine about college visits, the application process, and how to connect virtually with campuses.

The 2021-2022 FAFSA is available on October 1. In this session we’ll share what is new with the FAFSA and address questions that are likely to arise due to the financial impact of COVID-19. We’ll also discuss the resources and support that is available to help students and their families successfully submit the FAFSA and navigate the remainder of the financial aid process.
