In 2017, SAS celebrated its 25th year of helping Massachusetts animals. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for both companion animals and the people of our community by providing shelter and placement for homeless animals and support through community services and humane education.
In the past five years alone, our shelter has found homes for 2,280 animals from all over Massachusetts. Pets come to us as strays, as surrenders from owners no longer able to care for them, and as transfers from shelters and animal control facilities with no more room.
Because of the generosity of our donors, we continue to make a positive impact on animal welfare in our community by offering services that promote the health and well being of companion animals and address the root causes of pet homelessness. We strive to help our region's pet owners and to educate adopters and the public about animal welfare issues.
