As a 501(c)3 organization, Nutmeg Acres Wildlife Rehabilitation is committed to fostering an understanding and respect for all Connecticut wildlife through education and practical assistance for related issues. For seventeen years, quality and human treatment and care has been provided to these orphaned and injured animals until they are well enough to be released back into their habitat. Because our intake is continually increasing, we have outgrown our space. Currently, we are in the first phase of planning for an environmental education center in Windham County, Connecticut, with plans to integrate a wildlife rehabilitation unit.
Environmental education teaches us about both our natural and built surroundings. It raises awareness about issues impacting the environment upon which we all depend, as well as the actions we can take to improve and sustain it. Tomorrow's leaders need to be equipped for the challenges they face, and we must adequately prepare them for the future they will inherit. This requires a commitment to providing proper instruction. It also means supporting teachers and caregivers as they engage their children in outdoor studies and environmental issues.
We need your help to continue our mission. We need your help to protect wildlife; their survival is in our hands.
