Thompson Policy Institute's 2021 Summit on DisAbility and Inclusion

  • About
  • Speakers
The Thompson Policy Institute on Disability (TPI) is hosting the FREE 2021 Virtual Summit on DisAbility and Inclusion on Wednesday, August 11 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Summit is TPI's signature event that brings together current research and community partners to highlight best practices that improve the lives of people with disabilities by supporting inclusivity for all. The presentations during the Summit will appeal to self-advocates, families, educators, teacher education faculty, medical professionals, and service providers.
The Summit will feature a keynote address by Megan Bomgaars, who is a well-known self-advocate with Down Syndrome. Megan is an artist, entrepreneur, published author, college student, and lead on the critically acclaimed show Born this Way on A&E.
In addition to the keynote address, TPI will host four breakout strands: PK-12 Practice, Teacher Preparation, FAST Program Services, and Transition Services. Each breakout strand will feature experts from the field and highlight TPI partnerships.
The Summit will conclude with a panel of experts answering questions from the audience. We hope you can join TPI for this informative and insightful event.
The Summit is free to attend, but registration is required.
Accessibility: Live closed captioning and ASL interpreters will be provided. The virtual platform is also screen reader compatible. Please email tpi@chapman.edu for any other accommodations.
