The Fresh Ball will be virtual and available to the general public via the WBL Facebook Page and WBL Youtube channel. Guests that purchased tickets for the original March date will receive a Fresh Ball gift box as a thank you. This one night event has also been transformed into a three day weekend event from Friday October 2nd-October 4th.
The WBL Fresh Ball is a celebration of Hip-Hop Culture, and a recognition of its impact on the educational, artistic, and socio-emotional lives of young people throughout the D.C. Metro area. One-part party, and one-part community investment, the Ball combines all of the elements of Hip-Hop (dj’ying, emceeing, breaking, graffiti, and knowledge of self) to generate enough power, resources, and energy to sweat on the dance floor, and jumpstart neighborhood after-school programs for kids.
This series of event is now 100% free because we received funding from the National Endowment for the Arts and the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities to broadcast it on Facebook and Youtube.
Please consider making a donatin today to make programming like this available year round for DC youth by making a donation today! (www.wblinc.org/act) We are participating in a competition to recruit the most individual donors and if we do, we will win $100,000
