This project began in late 2018. Inspired by the striking beauty of my friend Karen, and the desire to continue the practice of creating art on a regular basis, this series was born of overwhelming necessity. Weekly, I and a few other artists would meet at my studio to paint from a live model for 3 hours. Together we would create art, talk with our model and grow as artists. The experience I've gained, as an artist and as a person has enriched my life.
Each portrait in this series is 2' X 2', painted in oil, from a live model in less than 3 hours. The paintings are available for sale via the online auction beginning at 1:00 pm Friday, November 20, 2020 and will be available for two weeks when the auction closes, Friday December 4th at 6:00 pm. It's my pleasure to partner with LEADgirls of NC as a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit their good work with our young women in the community.
