About The Conference

This event seeks to drive international investors to Caribbean agribusiness opportunities. Target attendees represent institutional investors, impact investors, corporates, international non-profits and foundations, the DFI community, and leading agribusiness entrepreneurs in the region.

During this 1-day virtual conference investors will hear from key country leadership on the case for investment in the region and will be guided through the full landscape of opportunities and challenges in the sector. Attendees will hear from a selection of agribusinesses raising capital for investment-ready projects, as well as key enablers on how to mitigate investment risks, enhance financial returns, and maximize impact. Regional entrepreneurs will be provided with investor introductions and gain practical insights on how to optimally position themselves to attract various forms of capital.

Key Outcomes

✔   Sessions to feature key leaders from across the region
✔   The content will be summarized in a report to be used as an investment tool by the investment community
✔   This event seeks to build cohesion between the various efforts being undertaken under CARICOM's 25x25 Initiative

The Time Is Now

The Caribbean has historically been a significant global food supplier but in recent times the region has experienced significant export declines and a growing reliance on cheap, highly-processed foreign food imports. This over-reliance on low-quality imports has left the region highly-exposed to food price inflation among a slew of other negative externalities such as growing food insecurity. This reality reinforces the need for responsible reinvestment into the regional agri-food system and incentivizing greater adoption of technology and climate-smart business practices. These opportunities are underpinned by the need for inclusion of smallholders and local communities to generate lasting social impact and financial returns to long-term agri-food investors.
