Equity in Access: Inclusive Solutions for Companion Animal Challenges

G2Z invites you to participate in the 10th National G2Z Summit from 16 – 18 September 2025 - online.

The theme for this year’s conference is Equity in Access: Inclusive Solutions for Companion Animal Challenges.

This year’s event is about accessibility in all its various forms. Accessibility looks and feels differently for all of us, depending on our needs and situations. If we are to truly do a deep dive into what accessibility means for our community and their pets, we must look to our own community first. We know there are many people across Australia who are not able to attend our legendary in-person events on the Gold Coast. This year is for them!

In 2025 we will bring experts from all facets of companion animal management and welfare, from Australia and beyond, together to learn about the latest programs, share best practices, gain inspiration, and build lasting connections.

We are super excited to announce that Jackson Galaxy (aka The Cat Daddy and star of the Animal Planet hit tv show, 'My Cat From Hell') and Kristen Hassen (G2Z2019 presenter and CEO of Outcomes for Pets Consulting) will be kicking off G2Z2025 for us, in fine style!

Not only will the dynamic duo be our opening act but they will also be delivering special presentations tailored your needs, over the 3 days of the event.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to hear from leaders in the space with a combined 45 years worth of experience working and innovating in the companion animal management and sheltering space.

Attendance at this conference is essential for everyone involved in companion animal policy and practice, including those working in all levels of government, the not-for-profit welfare, shelter and rescue sector, the research, academic and veterinary professions and the pet industry.

This event also provides an important opportunity for partnership-building across these sectors to achieve positive, economical and humane outcomes for the whole community.

In addition, we are delivering a very special, in person, Feline HQHVSN Workshop on 19 - 21 September. This Workshop will be held in Queensland and we are seeking teams of Veterinarians and Veterinary Nurses/Technicians to be involved. Places are limited so don't delay in submitting your application.

We look forward to your participation in these truly unique events.

See you in September 2025.

We are delighted to be welcoming Dr Becky Morrow (DVM, Grad Cert Veterinary Forensics, Grad Cert Shelter Medicine, MS, CAWA), Assistant Teaching Professor (Penn State University), Adjunct Assistant Professor (University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine) and President and Medical Director of Frankies Friends, to Australia, to deliver the Feline HQHVSN Workshop.

The Feline HQHVSN Workshop consists of one dry lab day on 19th September with all participants. The day includes theory and some practical skills such as ties and knots.

Depending on numbers (up to 100 participants total) the group will split into two groups to undertake the wet lab days on 20th September and 21st September.  Each participant team attends one day of the two. The wet lab will be focussed on desexing cats - 50 each day so one male and one female per team.

The goal is to have 100 participants that are made up of 50 veterinarians and 50 nurses/techs/practice manager. We are aiming for a ’team’ (or more) from each workplace so that there is more than one person taking the knowledge and skills back to the workplace and because much of the value of HQHVSN lies in the processes and non-surgical aspects of the model.

The Workshop is taking place near Brisbane and accommodation and transport details will be announced soon.

The registration fees are $1250 for vets and $850 for non-vets which covers workshop, materials and catering. Any travel and accommodation costs are separate.
