Tours

We are thrilled to announce that on day two of the fall Leadership Summit, we will be offering four experiential tours. These tours are designed to provide you with unique insights that show what happens behind the scenes to allow us to move America in and out of Amtrak’s busiest station. You will have a chance to see firsthand the work that keeps us moving today and to prepare us for tomorrow's riders.

All participants are expected to attend one of the four tours.

Breakout Sessions

We will be running two concurrent breakout sessions at the Leadership Summit.

Fostering Engagement & Culture

Presented by: Jody Moore, Senior Director Inclusion and Culture

Get ready for an interactive Fostering Engagement & Culture Session! Bring your team’s 2024 Employee Engagement Survey results (either printed or accessible on your laptop). We’ll complete an individual exercise and have candid discussions to generate actionable practices to enhance your team’s engagement and culture. It’s going to be a great opportunity to connect with your peers and learn from each other.

As of October 2nd, 64% of SLT had accessed their results. You may access the 2024 Your Say! Employee Engagement Survey results via the email and personalized link you received on September 24th and September 30th from Perceptyx (donotreply@perceptyx.com) with instructions on what to do with your results. You may also access results by signing in using the following link. Please refer to the Maximizing The Impact of the Employee Survey SharePoint site, which offers tools and resources to help you turn insights into action.

Creating Amtrak’s Reauthorization Proposal

Presented by: Ken Altman, VP Government Affairs

Every 5 years Congress considers what federal laws need to be updated, what grant programs need to be created or changed, and sometimes what additional funding should be made available for transportation, including for Amtrak and passenger rail. This is known as “reauthorization” and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) was the most recent example of this important process. Congress will soon do this again, and as such, Amtrak will put forward our own reauthorization proposals and ideas for Congress to consider. Come join Amtrak’s Government Affairs team to brainstorm what laws should be updated, what capital projects could be advanced if additional funding is provided, and even what we should consider for a political and public engagement strategy to help advance the company’s priorities.
