Themed, “Integrating Systems and Reimagining Models of Care,” this two-day conference will provide a unique opportunity and a safe space to analyze the health disparities that birthing persons encounter from gestation, birth, postpartum, and first two years after childbirth.

We invite healthcare professionals, providers, community-based organizations, college students, public health practitioners, social workers, and other related professions to engage in critical public health dialogue, informative presentations, speeches, and personal stories given by renowned local and national maternal and child health experts and those with lived experiences.

Continuing Education Notice
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Amedco LLC and March of Dimes. Amedco LLC is jointly accredited by the American Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Through the public health framework of addressing social determinants of health, the Maternal & Child Health Conference will share timely and relevant information to advance strategies to transform those systems that play a crucial role in supporting maternal health. Discussions focus on local, state, and national policies and initiatives, holistic and clinical birthing practices, and early-childhood development.

Harris County Public Health is committed to improving health outcomes before, during, and after childbirth by dismantling the persistent systemic challenges, barriers, implicit bias, and providing individualized and person-centered care and supports. This conference will provide organizations, professionals, and community members, with information, increased knowledge, educational tools, and resources to lead change and advocate in their respective disciplines.
