Our conference theme, “Embracing Resilience: Nonprofit & Philanthropic Education Responds to Contextual Changes,” focuses on the core topics outlined below.

  • Embracing Change | Understanding and adapting to economic, social, and political changes inside and outside the classroom to nurture students, staff, and faculty. Lessons learned from the past, strategies to implement, and strategic planning for the future.
  • Fostering Resilience | Strategies to cultivate the tools, resources, and mindset needed to survive and thrive. Sharing practical strategies to help our students and programs stay resilient amidst continued changes and/or challenges in our classrooms, departments, and communities.
  • Building Consensus | Working with diverse stakeholders to collaborate, engage in meaningful dialogue, and work to achieve common goals that benefit our students, programs, communities, and the sector through mutual understanding, decision-making, and cooperative strategies.
  • Technology and Innovation | Embracing evolving technology, AI, and other advancements better to understand the needs of our communities and students. Exploring what innovative teaching and community engagement can be accomplished through these innovations as students, educators, nonprofit professionals, and administrators. Utilizing new technology in our research, program administration, teaching, and outreach to support and build our programs and centers.
  • Teaching Pedagogy and Best Practices | Sharing innovative and effective teaching methods and experiences that set the standard of excellence in the field. Exploring and sharing ideas and practices to enhance learning for and about the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors. Exploring ways to assess and research teaching practices and outcomes.

⚠️ Note: While proposals are not limited to these topics, scheduling priority may be given to those that focus on these areas.

Proposal Types

The following proposal formats are being accepted:

  • Workshops | Highly interactive sessions where the facilitators and participants actively engage with each other. Facilitators should offer resources, comments, or perspectives on a certain issue or area and work with participants toward a common goal or objective. Workshops may include facilitators providing certain materials or requesting that participants bring material to work on during the session.
  • Roundtable Discussions | These proposals allow a moderator/chair to facilitate conversation around a common topic or theme. These sessions should be highly interactive and discussion-based, where all participants can share their views and engage in dialogue.
  • Panel Discussions/Presentations | A small group of pre-arranged speakers/presenters who address a common theme or topic. Panels should include a chair or facilitator and ideally include diverse participants in terms of where they work, area of study, lived experiences, etc.
  • Individual Presentations | Individuals (or co-authors) present scholarly papers, research, or teaching and pedagogy best practices. These sessions will be grouped with 2-3 other submissions with similar/related topics.

⚠️Scheduling Note: We currently plan to schedule 60-minute sessions. If you submit a session that you believe needs a different amount of time, please let us know. There is a section in the submission form for any logistical considerations
