Welcome to Autism Speaks Pathways to Early Intervention and Support

The sooner you recognize the signs of autism the sooner you can help make a lifetime of difference for your child.  Research confirms that autism can reliably be diagnosed by age 2, but the average age of diagnosis in the U.S. is about 5 years old, and studies also indicate that age is even higher for low-resourced and minority children.

Early intervention improves learning, communication, and social skills in young children with autism, and while every child develops differently, any early treatment can help to improve those outcomes.
