NSWALC 2026 Statewide Conference

The New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) is proud to announce its 2026 Statewide Conference will be held from Monday 23 March to Wednesday 25 March 2026.

As the first Statewide Conference since 2018, this event will bring together all 121 Local Aboriginal Land Councils (LALCs) from across the State for three days of connection, collaboration and strategic discussion.

NSW Land Rights, The Next Chapter: Unlocking the next 40 years

For more than 40 years, the NSW Land Rights movement has been a driving force for justice, empowerment and self-determination for Aboriginal communities across the state. As a Network, we have delivered substantial changes to the everyday lives of Aboriginal people living in NSW.

Together, we have made great progress in the Land Rights movement, yet there is still more to be done. As a Network, we are at a pivotal moment in time – a moment that can chart our path forward.

Under the theme NSW Land Rights, The Next Chapter: Unlocking the next 40 years of land rights, the 2026 NSWALC Statewide Conference will provide the opportunity to work together to shape a future that continues to honour Culture, strengthen communities, and create pathways for economic independence and social equity.

A forum for collaboration

The NSWALC Statewide Conference continues to be a cornerstone event for the NSW Land Rights Network, and this year we have extended the conference by an extra day to provide a further forum for LALCs to come together to discuss issues across the network, share ideas and raise concerns.

We are looking forward to welcoming representatives to Parramatta in March 2026 for what will be an engaging and inspiring event focused on the future of Land Rights in New South Wales.
