SALSA is proud to announce its 4th National Learning Stories conference, a virtual conference featuring many workshops to choose from and TWO Keynotes given by  Wendy Lee and Brenda Soutar from New Zealand.

The theme of the conference, Elevating Learning Stories: Creating Belonging in a Diverse World, will be highlighted as speakers share the amazing work being done in the United States to expand the possibilities of alternative assessment. Attendees will leave inspired with a strong understanding of how they can implement and improve their work and inquiry of Learning Stories.

Join us in discovering how learning stories, an authentic assessment tool, will change how  you  view your work and the diverse individuals you work with.

This is an opportunity to learn from the experts about the value of storytelling and how to document learning in a way that connects families, caretakers and colleagues.

Meet  other attendees, network and connect by video chat wi join discussion groups and engage in dialogue with sponsors and exhibitors.  

* There will be an opportunity to watch missed sessions for 30 days post conference day.

Schedule for the Day  (Pacific Time):

8:00 am  - Check in and  Connect  (video chat  with other attendees and  exhibitors)

8:30 am - Opening Ceremony

9:00 am - KEYNOTE

10:15 am - Break Out Session 

11:30 am - LUNCH (and more time to meet and greet)

12:15 pm  - Break Out Session

1:45 - KEYNOTE

2:45 pm  - Raffles and Closing Remarks  

Keynote Speakers: Wendy Lee,  is a co-author of Learning Stories in Practice and Director of the Educational Leadership Project in New Zealand.

Brenda Soutar combines understandings from her Māori lived experiences, work with the Māori, and has co-authored several books, including Understanding Te Whāraki and the recent revision to New Zealand national bicultural early childhood curriculum, Te Whāraki.
