A Powerful Look at Life Beyond Foster Care
A Powerful Look at Life Beyond Foster Care
This spring, the University of Kentucky College of Social Work, in partnership with the Department for Community Based Services, brought together child welfare professionals, community partners, and supporters for the premiere of "Their Truth," a documentary focused on the experiences of youth aging out of foster care.
Through the film and a conversation with the young people who shared their stories, the event created an opportunity to listen, learn, and reflect on the importance of support systems that help young people build successful futures.
Now, we’re bringing "Their Truth" to a virtual audience.
Join us on the afternoon of Wednesday, Nov. 4, for a special virtual screening of "Their Truth."
During the screening, attendees will have access to a live chat, providing an opportunity to connect with other viewers, share reflections, and ask questions throughout the film. Participation in this event will qualify for foster parent credit and counts towards practicum hours if approved by supervisor.
This documentary offers an intimate look at the lives of four young adults aging out of Kentucky’s foster care system. Through their stories, the film highlights resilience, growth, and the critical role of support systems in helping young people build successful futures.
