Rare, Collectible O.F.C. Vintage Bourbon - Buffalo Trace, 1980

Congratulations to Taylor Otten, winner of the raffle!

Thanks to all for your participation and support for the young leaders at Grow Dat!

Grow Dat is excited to present an advance, exclusive raffle item for Grow Dat's Hootenanny! Until March 1, you may purchase raffle tickets for the chance to win a rare, collectible bottle of Buffalo Trace's 1980 O.F.C. vintage bourbon whiskey. There are only 100 bottles of this rare vintage available, and the bottle is valued at $10,000. This whiskey is some of the rarest in the world and is not available in stores or bars and restaurants.

Straight bourbon whiskey must be aged in oak for at least two years, but these O.F.C. releases matured much longer. Recipe and age will vary by vintage, but many have matured for twenty years or more.

This bottle was presented to Grow Dat through Buffalo Trace's generous program to raise funds for non-profit organizations with the first release of their O.F.C. vintage whiskeys. For more information on the O.F.C. vintage release, check out Buffalo Trace's website and press release.

The winner for the raffle will be announced on March 1, 2017, at 10:00 PM, CST. Winner is responsible for pickup of bottle in New Orleans, Louisiana, or for the cost of shipping.

All proceeds from from the Hootenanny go towards supporting young New Orleans leaders as they grow 20,000 pounds of food for their community this year!

We will cap ticket sales at 250 total tickets.

FAQ

1. When will the winner be announced?
The drawing will take place on March 1, 2017, at 10:00 PM, CST, or whenever ticket sales reach 250 total tickets—whichever comes first. We will contact the winner to make arrangements to hand off the bottle, and we will announce the winner on our website and Facebook page.

2. Do I need to “submit” my tickets? What is the three-letter code for the raffle?
The three-letter code is “OFC.” You can submit your tickets via the online link or phone number sent to you in the confirmation e-mail. All tickets, submitted or not, will be added to the raffle at the time of the drawing. So you’re safe either way!

 3. So wait… do I submit the tickets or not?

We know, it’s a bit confusing! The raffle system is designed to support multiple raffle items at a time, which is why the bourbon bottle has a distinct code. Since we’re only raffling one item, however, everyone’s tickets are guaranteed to go into the raffle at the time of drawing. So submit them if you’d like that zen-like sense of closure… if not, that’s cool too! (Thanks for bearing with us as we try this raffle software for the first time!)

 4. I made a ticket purchase but didn’t receive a confirmation e-mail. Did my purchase go through?
All customers should receive a confirmation e-mail after purchase. If you did not, check the spam folder in your e-mail for “Accelevents.” If you have further questions, contact Jamie Broussard at jamie (at) growdatyouthfarm (dot) org.

 5. If I win and I don’t live in New Orleans, how do I receive the bottle?
You can choose to pick up the bottle in person or arrange to have the bottle shipped. The winner is responsible for the cost of shipping. Grow Dat staff will contact you about shipping arrangements if you choose that route.

 6. What does the money go toward?
Great question! Grow Dat’s mission is to nurture a diverse group of young leaders through the meaningful work of growing food. Each year, 60 young people participate in transformative leadership experiences through the work of urban farming while growing 20,000 pounds of food for their community and engaging in critical learning around social and environmental justice along the way. Your support helps to make this critical work possible! If you’d like to learn more, check out growdatyouthfarm.org. Thanks for playing!
