Lead retrieval is how exhibitors capture attendee contact details at a booth, usually by scanning a badge, so they can qualify and follow up after the event.
Not the scan. The follow-up. A lead retrieval system that captures a name and nothing else leaves the exhibitor with a list they cannot act on, and they will tell you the booth did not work. What they need is enough to prioritize: who the person is, what they do, and ideally what was said.
A scan plus two questions, asked while the conversation is still happening, is worth more than two hundred unqualified scans. Give exhibitors a way to add a note or a rating at the moment of capture and their follow-up rates change, because by the following week nobody remembers who anyone was.
What an exhibitor receives depends on what the attendee agreed to share at registration, not on what the exhibitor scanned. Set that expectation with exhibitors before the event. An exhibitor who expected email addresses and received names will treat it as a platform failure.
Exhibitors scan an attendee's badge through the attendee app to see their basic information and add them as a lead, and lead generation settings are configured per event. Events running RFID badges capture leads by tapping rather than scanning a code. Leads stay in the exhibitor's own view rather than the organizer's account. See lead capture.
