A post-event survey is the feedback form sent to attendees after an event, asking about sessions, speakers, logistics and whether they would come back.
Response rates fall sharply with every day that passes. The practical window is the same day or the next morning, while the experience is fresh and the event is still in their inbox. A survey sent the following week measures whoever is conscientious, not whoever attended.
Five to eight questions. One overall rating, one open text field, and the specific things you can actually change. Every extra question costs you completions, and a long survey that nobody finishes tells you less than a short one that everybody does.
An overall event score averages away the information. Session-level feedback tells you which speakers to rebook and which formats to drop, which is the decision you will actually be making next year. Asking inside the session, before people walk out, beats asking about it days later.
Surveys are built in the platform and can be delivered inside a session, pushed as a notification, or sent as a link by email, so feedback can be collected while the session is still running rather than only afterward. See attendee engagement.
